In the wee hours of the morning we sometimes wonder how we ever got in the mess we are in. How come the money is short this month? How do I make my wife understand I really love her? Will the car make it another season? Should I change jobs or just keep working at this one?

Sometimes the situation seems to have no answer. It feels like we are in a fenced in area with a large hedge around it, and we have no room for maneuver or place to go. Maybe this is God’s way of hedging you into a place where you can listen to Him. Maybe He wants you to spend less, and save more. He is using these difficulties to get you to think like He does. Maybe He wants you to love more with actions, and stop talking about it. Actions do speak louder than words. Maybe He wants you to trust Him with the car, and see what He might do. Maybe He wants to know if you really are working to your potential, or if you are in a bad spot.

The conflicts and the road blocks in our lives are there for reasons. More often than not, they are to keep us from going way out of bounds, and getting into some serious trouble. Find your spouse or a good friend. Get some coffee. Talk through the trials you are currently experiencing. Can you discern what God may be trying to communicate? May the truth be revealed so you can relax and enjoy the journey. Don’t try to go over or around God’s hedge. The stickers are like blackberries.

Galatians 6:6-8

This is the tag line you read below in our name in our logo. But it is not just a tag line; it is who we are as a church. What guides us is found in what Jesus said in Matthew 22:35-40

“And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? And he said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Jesus is saying that these two commands summarize everything we are to do that is found in the Law and the Prophets, and thats good enough for us here at Central. We have shortened what our Savior said, just a bit, to help communicate and focus what drives us every day in everything we do.

We wouldnt change the content of Jesus message in any way nor would we change the order of the commandments in any way. Only if we first love God can we then properly love people with a humble heart. We at Central are all about making God look good through our lives and our church. And loving people because we first love God makes God look good.
Come join us on Sunday and see and feel what were talking about.
